Most of y’all probably know that we also own GameMakers, and we have suffered a major loss this week. Mandi has been our manager at GameMakers for a long time, but when she started with us 5 years ago, she started as a maker at Soap Stop and spent many hours in the store as well. She quickly moved into management and has been in charge of GameMakers since before our big move to the new location last winter.

Mandi is irreplaceable as a friend, as a manager, and as a member of this company, and because we all work extremely close together, both in proximity and as friends, the loss of one of our own strikes the very heart of our organization. We all have agreed to saddle up and get back to work, but we’re all hurting, so please treat our crew gently in our places this week...especially Mandi’s group at GameMakers.

Michelle, Grant, and I will be at Soap as usual this week, and you can still be smartasses to us…we may just be quicker to tell you to fuck off. 🤣

All of our love to Mandi’s other friends and family. See you on the flip side Kiddo. ❤️We are heartbroken to report that we have lost our Mandi. Mandi was the manager at Gamemakers--a massively intelligent and powerful woman who took care of everyone and everything.

Mandi loved animals, books, dragons, books about dragons, her family and many friends, motorcycles, the KC Chiefs and "Baby Girl," her Jeep. That damn Jeep. Baby Girl spent most of her time broken down somewhere but Mandi kept Baby Girl running to visit family, to improve her dog training skills and to work on yet another advanced college degree.

At work, we called Mandi "Lawful Evil" because she was basically unbeatable at every game we played at Compulsory Merriment. Mandi's advice when we whined about it? "Read the rules." Mandi was not a fan of cooperative games but, if there was a competition involved, nobody really had to wonder who was going to win.

Mandi's loss leaves a hole in so many hearts! She is irreplaceable.

We're not at the top of our game at Gamemakers right now. There may be a few closed days, or short days, here and there. We'll get back to some kind of normal as soon as possible. Meanwhile, thank you for your understanding.
